English version :
At the beginning of February 2017, the Facebook page « Plataforma Anti patriacado » – which is notably abolitionist of prostitution and pornography and opposed to the commodification of bodies – was closed by Facebook following numerous denunciations alleging transphobic content. To defend themselves of these accusations, the administrators of the page have just posted on their blog the following statement, that has been translated by TRADFEM.
PROOF OF THE SUPPORT OF OUR PLATFORM FOR THE TRANS COMMUNITY
Posted on February 6, 2017 by ADMINISTRADORAS
« As many of you know, we are experiencing a cruel and violent attack led by some trans people and some of their supporters, who falsely accuse us of spreading hatred and transphobia against people, especially trans women. These people are inciting others to harass the page and its administrators in order to knock down and silence the page, as well as our personal profiles, and those of all the people who defend us, using the strategy of mass complaints regarding contents, although our contents do not violate any Facebook policy.
Whoever has been following us for years will know the commitment of this page to support all groups oppressed by patriarchy, including the trans community. Anyone who has followed us for years will also know that we have never erased the violence that they suffer or denied their identity as women. On the contrary, we have always denounced anti-trans violence, defended their rights and rejoiced in their achievements. To this end, better than words, we provide evidence below of messages posted on our site over the last few years and before this conflict in support of the trans community.
We have many reasons to suspect that this attack, disguised in accusations of transphobia, has other hidden economic and ideological interests. We firmly believe that they want to get us out of the way because of our strong abolitionist commitment to prostitution, both street and filmed, and against the rental of women’s wombs, reasons for which we have long been the target of organized attacks and censorship attempts carried out by pimp’s lobbies, supporters of an institutionalization of prostitution and of womb rentals, johns and male chauvinists.
The people who are leading the attack – which we are not going to name, in order to not put ourselves at their level, although we almost know almost all of them – are self-declared defenders of prostitution and of the commoditisation and reification of our bodies and uteruses. Look for their videos in their profiles and on Youtube and come to your own conclusions. We believe that, since they have not been able to bring us down because of our abolitionist position, one that is increasingly accepted and becoming more and more widespread (fortunately for us and unfortunately for them), they have tried to use the excuse of transphobie – something much more socially condemnable and that nobody can ignore, logically – to put an end to our reputation and therefore, to our page, that is very uncomfortable for the interests of sex mobs, johns, and the lobbies attempting to institutionalize prostitution and the rental of women’s wombs.
We will soon publish a statement from this blog explaining in detail our position and the reason for the discrepancies that caused this and other conflicts both with our group and globally. We just want to say that this public scorn, the threats, the violence and the witch-hunt to which these people are subjecting us because of a mere conceptual discrepancy seem very unfair and disproportionate. For the moment, we leave you with some examples of our integration in the feminist struggle of PAP of the transsexual community during all these years.
WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED, NEITHER WILL FEMINISM.
THANK YOU FOR CIRCULATING THIS MESSAGE AND FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT »
